Many inexpensive parking aids need to be “jerry-rigged” onto the connection cable for retro-fitting, which of course, takes time and effort. The sensors of the 8-series system can be installed very quickly and neatly using the Dometic 22 mm punching tool. If you already have a rear parking aid, this hard-wired Dometic MagicWatch MWE 890 is a great add-on and provides all-round protection for your car. It is activated by the speedometer and the reverse gear, or there is the option of an independent switch. Obstacles are only detected within the danger zone (< 75 cm), which is advantageous in busy traffic and there is also an optional LED display.
